What Sets Us Apart

Our Business Philosophy

Our agency was founded by Elwen H. Boese in 1947. Mr. Boese stressed that the agency would be led by Christian, faith-based principles. Among the guiding principles is “Do unto others as we would have them do unto us”. This means that we strive to put our customers’ needs first and we believe that every customer is to be treated with dignity and respect. We will also conduct our business with integrity. Simply put, integrity means there is no inconsistency between what we say we believe, verses what we actually do.

Family-Owned as Opposed to Corporate-Owned

Currently the agency ownership is made up of three generations of descendants, or family members through marriage, all related to Mr. Boese. Because of this, we are able to maintain the principles of business that Mr. Boese believed in. As with many industries, insurance agencies are often owned by businesses such as banks or national corporations. And more often than not, these corporate owners stress profit in lieu of service. We firmly believe that if you meet the customer’s needs first, the profit will take care of itself and we have found that to be true.

Teamwork

We look at each client as an agency client. When someone is out, we have someone to back them up. If you have a claim, we have a Claims Department to assist you. Their goal is to see that your claim is handled promptly, accurately, and professionally. We have a Surety Bond Department. The combined surety department experiences exceed 100 years. Coupled with some of the finest surety bond companies in the business, we believe our ability to meet your surety bond needs is equal to any in the state.

Contracts

Since we specialize in the construction industry, in addition to various other industries, our clients constantly work under contracts. We read our client’s contracts in regards to insurance requirements as well as hold harmless/indemnification clauses on a regular basis. It is our goal to advise our clients as to the degree that their current coverages satisfy the requirements. At the same time, we advise them regarding areas where coverage is lacking, and how to correct it if coverage is available. We will not issue certificates that misrepresent our client’s coverage. In short, we will do our best to assist our clients in maintaining coverage to meet their contractual requirements, while advising them when coverage is insufficient.

Workers Compensation Certified Advisors

One of the biggest misconceptions in the insurance industry is that workers compensation is all alike and thus should be purchased as a commodity. Perhaps more than any other coverage, you can affect your work comp premium. But you need the assistance of a knowledgeable work comp agent (advisor). For instance, do you know the following:
     • The most important date regarding your work comp?
     • How to understand your Experience Rating worksheet so you can avoid making costly mistakes and understanding how each claim affects your Experience Mod?
     • How to prepare for your work comp audit so you don’t pay a penny more than you owe?
     • How the new Oklahoma work comp law has changed and how it affects you?
     • How to implement a Return to Work, (light duty) program, to reduce claims and retain good employees?
     • How to be sure your Work Comp policy is written correctly to meet your company’s needs?
Our agency has Certified Work comp Advisors who can answer these and other work comp questions. More than any other coverage, you need to be sure you have a knowledgeable work comp agent to advise and assist you to lower your work comp costs.

Our Partners (Bainswest)

Yes, there are agencies much larger than us. But through our partnership with over 20 other Independent Agencies (known as Bainswest), in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri, we have been recognized as one of the 20 largest Agency Partnerships according to the Insurance Journal in the United States. Through this partnership, we have access to more markets, as well as the clout with these markets that enables us to compete with any agency of any size. But since we are run like a smaller Independent Agency, we can give you the personal service you expect, while also providing competitive products equal to any of the larger agencies. We see this as a win-win arrangement.
